Clark's Restaurant, located in Santee, South Carolina, was a pleasurable dining experience. If you want the really good restaurants ask the locals. And the locals said to eat at Clark's. We sat outside in the courtyard, which was comfortable and quaint. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The building is very nice, with an Inn attached. The food was good!

“I had my wedding at Clarks inn on November 14th. I didn’t want to worry about setting up or breaking down so I left it up to them to set up the dining area and center pieces. It was absolutely gorgeous, I couldn’t have planned it any better! We got married in the small courtyard by the fountain and had ample room for our 60 guests. After dinner we moved across the parking lot to the Santee Room for the reception. It was so convenient having everything at one area! There was a set up for our DJ, the courtyard had a bonfire going for us with chairs as it was cold, and when the night was over we walked 30 feet to our honeymoon suite, can’t beat that!

Clarks was very accommodating, the food is beyond delicious! I highly recommend the tuna steak and I’m not a seafood person normally, it’s that good. The old charm and friendly staff make this place a must see if you’re looking for venues.”

Stay here if you are on 95 near exit 98 in SC. The rooms are acceptable, each with it's own little library (bring books to donate) but the restaurant ambience cannot be topped! The bar, IMHO, is better than you will find anywhere on 95

We went there for my mother in law's birthday. The room we had was quiet and comfortable. The staff were very nice. The food was amazing! Food service was slow but I promise it was worth the wait! We had the chicken, chicken livers, Monte Cristo sandwich (so awesome), fish, shrimp salad, and chicken salad. Everyone loved what they had!

I absolutely love this place. The food is really amazing and staff are so incredibly nice and accommodating. I use to cook professionally and also worked the front of the house too. If I was to open a a restaurant I'd want ppl like Edward and Dalton. Seriously made my day. This is an absolutely wonderful establishment and I will be back. Sunday evenings are my cheat night. This is been my favorite hamburger in quite a while. Fries and coleslaw were were equally perfect.

Long journey down the east corridor, I found this establishment by the hotel. Very nice atmosphere and layout. Glad to see a rather super-sized portion of spaghetti and meatball, and a good sized red wine was a bonus. Bummer they had zero bread of any kind, but the very good service made up for that miss. I’d recommend stop here on your travels.

Interesting old home motif. We stopped in for a Saturday lunch while traveling. Somewhat limited menu consisting mainly of paying sandwiches and salads with soup. Great atmosphere! Beautiful decor! It's well worth the stop if your travels take you by.

After trying three or four restaurants that practiced "social distancing, face masks, etc., we walked into Clark's Inn and were immediately greeted and reassured they indeed followed these safely protocols. The servers were all wearing face masks and gloves. What a delight! In addition, the dining room was lovely, quiet, and the food delicious. This place is a real find.

My family has often eaten at Clarks when they travel and I finally got to experience just how delicious the food truly is. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The portions were generous and quite delicious. I would definitely suggest the Sea Bass or Roasted Chicken and the homemade desserts are definitely a great end to a delicious meal.

A pleasant surprise off I95!! We stopped here for lunch while traveling home. My husband got salmon and I had salad with honey chicken. We both had banana pudding for dessert (free with meals). It was very affordable too (less than $40 for us both). I still can't get over the price for such quality food. We cleaned the plates wasn't anything left! So good!!! Exit 98 in Santee, SC heading north!

If you own a Tesla, this is absolutely the best place around to stop for the night and get some rest. Clean and quiet rooms. Supercharger located in the same parking lot.

We were visiting the area and stopped at Clarks for lunch. Greeted by a very friendly gentleman at the desk. It is a very pretty place. Our waitress, Sylvia was very nice. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was great. We might go back one more time before we leave, it was that good. Social distancing and masks were worn. Highly recommend! I had soup and a salad, my hubby had a turkey panini. Date of visit: November 2020

I was traveling & enjoyed a meal at Clark's. The food was delicious & the service prompt and friendly. I was very pleased to find the restaurant practicing the social distant rules along with sanitation. The ambiance was was relaxing and quit unique. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Had Thanksgiving dinner here with 4 friends. We were taken very good care of throughout our entire meal. The meal was plentiful and delicious. I will definitely go back to try it again to eat from their regular menu. Very kind people working diligently to make your visit perfect.

Bob is the best!! After driving all day through rain and fog...we were grateful for the warm welcome that Bob provided. I had a fabulous cranberry and pecan salad with a sweet Italian homemade dressing for my dinner. My husband had blackened seafood with coleslaw and corn Parmesan grits, which he enjoyed. We shared a special Valentine’s desert of pecan pie!

Wife and I are from Canada. For the past 12 years we travel to Santee to play golf . Always stay at Clarkes . They treat us King and Queen for 8 days . We missed 2020 because of closed borders and COVID . It was a sad annual week . Cant wait for this year . It is an amazing stay . Everyone goes out of their way for you. My wife and I spent a few days at a Wyndham resort in Santee SC last Fall and was trying to find a decent place to eat. We really weren't in the mood for fast food so we asked a few locals at the resort for a few recommendations. Clarke's is one of the locations that was recommended as a semi-formal dining venue. We were still in pandemic mode so we dined outside in the courtyard. Since we were in the south I thought I'd go all in and order some chicken gizzards for appetizer. We weren't disappointed by these well seasoned and crisply fried treats. Continuing with the southern motif I went with the fried chicken entre. The chicken was also well seasoned, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender, but not greasy, just like Sothern fried chicken should be. My wife had the low country seafood medley; which was also well seasoned and tasty.

One of the nice things about Clarke's is that it's literally minutes from I95 which means that even if you are literally just passing through, you can stop and grab a home cooked meal in a very quaint and respectable establishment.

Wonderful oasis in the middle of all the chains. Rooms were clean and decorated in the period. We spent time outside on the garden furniture enjoying the warm evening. What a lovely surprise! After a long day driving from PA toward Savannah we stopped here for dinner. Right off 95 so our expectations were not tremendously high. The food was fabulous. My husband got shrimp and grits and we ordered fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. I got the shrimp and corn chowder and salad for dinner. Everything was delicious. The dining room was lovely with the tables distanced, a nice warm ambience. Our server was Alexis and the service was lovely, including our bus person whose name I did not catch. Prices were very reasonable. Topped it off with chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream which was delightful. We will plan to make this a nice stopping point in the future. There’s a great gift shop attached to the restaurant to Mandarin.

My husband saw their billboard sign. What a delightful restaurant. The staff is very attentive but not intrusive. There is a limited menu for lunch but with enough variety for everyone. The outdoor dining area is lovely and very peaceful. The food was very good. Portions were generous. My husband really enjoyed the Swai entree. All items include dessert.

This is the half way point between our homes. This place is worth stopping at. The food was amazing, the service was amazing and the rooms are quaint and clean. This will be our new midway point. My wife and I visited one of our favorite Santee restaurants, Clarks. My wife ordered the ribeye special and I ordered their famous fried chicken. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. Our waitress even reminded me that it would take a little extra time because the chicken is cooked only when ordered. It was worth the wait. We were a little early for dinner and came in through the patio door because it said restaurant on that side. We didn’t see anyone as we wandered to the front desk through the dining room and a quaint seating area with a fireplace. We didn’t find anyone at the desk but a lady came out of the office and even though they were closed she was very gracious and apologetic (although we were not supposed to be there) and said we could wait at the bar. She rounded up a server to take our drink order. We decided to eat in the bar and Mark took very good care of us. We had the appetizer of the day, meatballs with marinara sauce. Excellent flavor and texture! I had the seafood platter and hubby had the filet mignon . Both meals were prepared perfectly and were delicious! We plan to stay at the Inn if we are ever in the area again. I highly recommend Clark’s Inn and Restaurant

The food is kind of pricey but it's such a nice hometown restaurant. The servers are great and they are practicing social distancing. I have been here quite a bit with my parents and they love it. They have this 60 year old apple crunch desert and it's amazing. To sum it up imagine an Old Cracker Barrel but completely authentic. Definitely a must stop and see.

We loved this family owned restaurant! The atmosphere here was upscale hunting lodge setting. Nice bar and gift shop! Baked chicken with rice and green bean casserole sides was delicious with plentiful portions! The Hamburger steak (topped with mushrooms &I minis:) dinner was also very good. It came with delicious mashed potatoes & mixed veggies! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The prices were just a little on the high side, but again, it is a bit upscale (but don’t worry about attire because causal dress is acceptable)

Husband and I stayed at a nearby hotel on our way to Florida. We were delighted to find a”real” restaurant during our stopover. We arrived at dinner time without reservations, but were quickly seated in the bar area. Service was a bit slow and we could tell some of the staff were new. However they were all very attentive and took very good care of us. Nice selections on the menu leaning toward low-country dishes, but also a good variety of meats and fish. Our food was well prepared and delicious and compliments to the bartender for the martinis! The decor was elegant with paneled walls, etc. we will be driving to Florida again in late July and look forward to another dinner here when we stop for the night.

Service was very good (Alexis was server), food was good as well. Outdoor seating was nice after driving. Wine list was better than expected. Was a nice spot along 95 for dinner.

Excellent! Wish I stopped sooner. Why stay at a nondescript roadside motel when you can receive a warm welcome, cozy room and charming ambience all while being a stone's throw from I-95. Though I did not try the attached restaurant, it looks charming. The grounds of Clark's are lovely and well maintained. I'll be planning my highway trips around stopping here. They are doing a great job!

The dining room is elegant and nicely lit to enjoy an intimate family meal after a long day of traveling. I enjoyed sea bass and my husband had a seafood stir fry. Both meals were delicious. Our son enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs which I tasted since we are from NJ and suspect that we are the only ones who can make this dish. They were very good. Our waitress was very attentive and the service was top notch.

Traveling, we stopped and had lunch. Great food, beautiful place. Gift shop was rather pricey, but cute. Would definitely like to visit again. Cranberry Chicken salad is great!

Five stars for this eloquent dining establishment. Yes I was originally drawn to the name but the idea of fine dining while on a road trip was quickly accepted thereafter. Food and service was excellent. The kitchen prepared the food quickly too so the experience was expedited and in our traveling favor. Should probably go without saying but maybe not the first pick for the budget thrift. If your tired of the chains and fast food, you’ll love this place!

We had a very nice dinner. Met with brother & sister in law, who were staying at Santee State Park. We had a table in the lounge, which at about 4:30 pm was quiet. Marc N was our server. Very pleasant and congenial. They had the Sea Bass and Cheeseburger entrees, while we both had the Low Country Stir Fry. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. Served promptly, but long enough you knew it wasn't a rush job. My sister in law & I shared a wonderful creme brulee cheesecake. Most definitely will return.
